You want to apply your brand's visual style to a new product photo. Style transfer sounds perfect — until you realize it will distort your logo into something unrecognizable.
You have a brand style guide — specific colors, specific type, a logo everyone recognizes. You want to extend that visual identity to new marketing materials, product mockups, or social posts. A style transfer tool seems like the obvious choice — feed it your brand and a new image, get a result that looks like your brand applied to the new image. The result usually looks like your brand interpreted by a model that doesn't know your brand, which means distorted logos, wrong colors, and unrecognizable typography.
Style transfer works on texture, color palette, and overall mood. It doesn't work on logos. A logo is a precise geometric shape with a specific letter, and style transfer treats it like every other shape — it adds texture, shifts edges, and reinterprets proportions. The result is a logo that looks vaguely like yours but isn't recognizable as yours, which is worse than not having your logo there at all. The counter-intuitive part is that the better your brand identity is, the worse style transfer handles it. A strong brand identity is exactly defined, and style transfer is exactly the wrong tool for exactly-defined shapes.
Use style transfer for the mood and texture, not for the brand mark. Generate a base image with style transfer, then composite the actual logo on top at the end — the real one, the SVG file that renders as vectors and looks identical at any size. Don't ask the model to render the logo; ask it to render the lighting, the texture, the mood, the colors, and lay the logo on top manually. For places where the logo can't be placed on top (an interior shot, a person holding a product), use an AI image generator with very clear instructions to render the brand mark correctly, or skip the brand mark in those compositions. If the rendered output is too small or the details get blurry, run it through an image upscaler so the logo overlay looks crisp. The rule is simple. Style transfer for mood, real assets for identity, and never ask the model to do something it isn't good at.
We covered face distortion in our guide to how style transfer distorts faces; the brand version is the same idea applied to logos. Both are exactly defined, both get destroyed, and both need to be layered on top instead of rendered through the model.
