These are the most common and most distracting elements. They are usually against the sky (easy to remove — uniform background) or against the ground (moderate difficulty — textured surface).
Category 2: Vehicles and people. Cars parked in front of the building, delivery trucks, pedestrians, cyclists. These are temporary — they were there during the shoot but are not part of the architecture. People are small against the building facade — easy to remove. Vehicles are larger and may overlap architectural details — moderate difficulty.
Category 3: Signage and temporary installations. Real estate signs, construction permits, temporary lighting, banners. These are small and against uniform backgrounds — easy to remove.
Category 4: Utility elements. Power lines, telephone poles, street lights, traffic signals, fire hydrants. These are permanent — removing them would misrepresent the site. Use judgment: if the utility element significantly detracts from the architectural composition, remove it. If it is part of the context, leave it. The architectural photo is not a documentary. It is a portrayal of the building at its best.
