What it does well: Speed. You go from idea to readable draft in minutes. The generator handles structure and volume. The polisher handles sentence-level quality. This is the right pipeline for content where volume and speed matter more than originality: product descriptions at scale, internal documentation, meeting summaries, routine blog posts on well-covered topics.
What it does poorly: The generator fills gaps in your outline with generic filler. If your outline says "discuss benefits of solar panels," the generator writes three paragraphs of surface-level benefits (save money, help environment, increase home value) because that is what the training data contains. The polisher then makes those generic paragraphs well-written generic paragraphs — but they are still generic. Polish does not create insight. It only improves expression.
G→P also suffers from garbage-in amplification. If the generator misunderstands your outline's intent or picks the wrong angle, the polisher enthusiastically improves the wrong thing. You end up with a beautifully written article that misses the point.

What it does well: Quality and originality. When you polish the outline — adding specific examples, sharpening the argument structure, naming concrete data points to include — the generator has much better input to work with. It does not need to fill gaps with generic content because there are fewer gaps. The output is more specific, more useful, and sounds less like every other AI-generated article on the topic.
Example. G→P outline: "Section 3: Benefits of remote work." P→G polished outline: "Section 3: Remote work productivity — cite the Stanford WFH study (13% productivity increase at Ctrip), contrast with the Microsoft survey showing collaboration silos, and note that the real variable is async vs sync communication culture, not location." The generator given the second outline produces a dramatically better section because it has specific claims to explain rather than a vague topic to fill.
What it does poorly: It is slower. You spend more time on the outline. It also requires that you — the human — know enough about the topic to write a specific, informed outline. If you are writing about a topic you barely understand, you cannot polish the outline with specifics you do not have.
Use G→P when: you are producing content at scale where "good enough" is the standard, you are writing about a topic you know well and can spot AI generic-isms quickly during review, or the content is short-form (social media posts, product blurbs, email copy) where the generator rarely goes off track.
Use P→G when: the content is long-form and needs depth, you are writing for an expert audience that will notice generic filler, the topic is nuanced and a wrong angle ruins the whole piece, or you have specific data, examples, or case studies you want to include.
Hybrid approach (recommended): P→G for the article body, then G→P for the introduction and conclusion. The body benefits from specific outlines. The intro and conclusion are formulaic enough that the generator handles them well with minimal guidance, and the polisher smooths the transitions.
